Thank you for your interest!  However, I am a difficult woman who has been used and abused, verbally attacked, maligned, misquoted and worse.

The “Text” field  in the form is for DETAILS. Any data to let me know due date, text length, themes/topics, if photos requested, whatever. 

Is this for books, online, video, etc? Who is the Author, Publisher or Film company/distributor?

I appreciate details so I can provide your audience the very best responses.

My whole goal is to be inspiring, entertaining, informative, uplifting and fun. Which is how most people who know me describe me.

“Punk” is now dissected, analyzed and discussed in colleges, books, scholarly journals. WITHOUT bothering to interview us!

The main movers and shakers, the creatives who made the music, the photos, art, wrote,  created fanzines or wrote for big publications, produced shows, helped each other with clothing, hair and more (but not professional yet) and so much more would be appalled at what is being said and written about us.

Time is not on our sides. I’m surprised more don’t reach out to hear from us before we are all gone.

Never ever believe what any one person says. Punk was like the elephant and the six blind men. We all have our versions.

I TOOK PHOTOS. Which I’ve examined more thoroughly than most writers. Every photo tells many stories! And I didn’t drink. Unlike most other writers and speakers.

I love sharing my memories while soberly and intentionally taking thousands of photos. I’ve dedicated five decades creating photos and compiling accurate research to present the most complete history of early punk as I documented and lived it, then and now.

So much contradictory info out there. I can only provide what my very detailed photos inform, educate, and uplift us.

But I INSIST on the following due to decades of abuse, and violations of intellectual property, VARAs (Visual Artists Rights) and Copyrights.

WORSE than all that, I’ve experienced abusive behavior such as interruptions (whilst sharing information I was asked to discuss), arguments, verbal assaults and insistence on topics not agreed upon prior to the interview.

OR my  words chopped up and rearranged. I can’t even read most interviews about me because someone always has to cut up or rewrite what I said or wrote.

DO NOT  GO THERE!

Now MY rules cos this is my life. Not just another blog post or ‘content.’

  • You use MY captions and MY words.
  • If you have a limit how many words, TELL me and I will fit my text to your requirements.
  • IF you or your editor or anyone else insist editing my words, my captions OR touching my photos (colorizing black and white or removing color or ANY ALTERATIONS, cropped, distortions or ANY modifications) or AI re text or images, STOP NOW.
  • DO NOT misquote me!
  • DO NOT change dates, names, places unless you can verify I goofed. I’m glad to update info ONLY if you provide proof!
  • Jenny Lens will be provided a copy of the raw, unedited file! Audio, video, text, transcribed, etc. I can do what I want with the interview file(s). Delivered within 30 days after the interview.  WITHOUT me having to ask or remind anyone.

  • Basically, you take my truth and run with it. If too long, doesn’t jive with YOUR version of MY life, then sod off. NOW.

Provide Relevant Info IN THE SUBJECT HEADER.

  • Please nothing generic.
  • If it’s been a few days, please bring me back up to speed!
  • I handle a lot of various tasks (tech demands all my focus) and am focused on now, not emails from a week ago or longer.
  • ALL  questions will be provided PRIOR the interview so I can prepare,  with text and photos.
  • NO deviations from agreed upon topics.
  • NO interrupting or arguments! If you ask a question, you are SILENT and pleasant. 
  • You  would not believe how many interrupt or argue, thinking it makes for better copy or audio. OR they have neurological issues and simply will not stop interrupting. All. The. Time.
  • Do it ONCE and interview over and nothing can be used.
  • NO in-person interviews.
  • Prefer TEXT.
  • Phone or Zoom are fine, but NO photos or filming of me! I don’t even have a web camera. Always been camera shy.
  • I’ll provide photos instead.
  • Neither interviewer nor Jenny Lens will ever publicly criticize nor defame the other if one feels the interview goes bad.
  • That means no matter the grievance, NO ONE publishes, posts, emails, discusses details or online anyone’s name.
  • Not the interviewer nor anyone associated with them or Jenny Lens.
  • That is called DEFAMATION and is punishable legally.
